How do I Make an Appointment

Since Covid 19 we are currently not working our usual Open Access clinics, however we do continue to see patients face to face , and we are also continuing our telephone consultations.  Not all medical issues need a face to face appointment with a clinician or nurse.

To make an appointment please contact Reception on 01283 840228 and speak to one of our Medical Receptionists who will triage your call to the most appropriate clinician and relevant clinic, or pop into surgery and speak to one of our Receptionists.

The Receptionist will then aim to meet your request, whether that be a telephone consultation, or a face to face appointment.

The Receptionist will aim to do this as quickly after your call, however if we can not accommodate your request on the same day we will offer you an alternative day instead.

Depending on your medical issue the Receptionist may also ask for some photos to be sent over for the clinician to view ahead of your consultation, this can be for rashes, spots, etc as this provides a clear picture and gives the clinician an overview ahead of your consultation.

Appointments face to face with a GP:

We still continue to offer face to face appointments with the clinician if appropriate and these remain both morning and evening surgeries only. Please call reception to request an appointment. Please note the GP’s can only deal with ONE medical issue per appointment, if you require to discuss more issues please let the Receptionist know when making your appointment.

Appointments face to face with a Practice Nurse:

Appointments with our Practice Nursing Team will also need to be booked via telephone with our Receptionist, we are able to book these appointments in advance to ensure we can arrange a suitable day or time for you needs, these are also both morning and evening surgeries only.

Telephone Consultations with a GP, Nurse Practitioner, Practice Nurse:

We are unable to book a Telephone Consultation with one of our clinicians multiple days in advance, we are only currently working on a DAY to DAY basis.

This is to ensure there are adequate spaces for medical attention needed on that day.

For a call back during morning surgery – please call Reception between the hours of 08:00am – 11:00am

For a call back during evening surgery – please call Reception between the hours of 15:00pm – 17:30pm (MON,TUES, THURS ONLY)

Phlebotomy Clinics:

We offer Phlebotomy Clinics 4 mornings per week with our Health Care Assistant – Kirsty Stidever.

Please phone Reception and book your appointment time, it is very important that you attend the surgery ONLY 5 minutes ahead of your appointment, any appointment time which is missed or you arrive late, we may have to re-arrange your appointment to another day.

INR Blood Clinic appointments need to be booked with Reception as soon as you know the date for when you are next due
